“I had done a year of A levels at college and although I did well, it wasn’t for me and I didn’t have the same goals as when I started. I didn’t want to go to university anymore and I just wanted to get working so I looked into Apprenticeships. I wanted to start earning money and work a full time job. I thought an apprenticeship would be good for me because I like to learn and do qualifications and I also learn very well by ‘doing’.
The Apprenticeship has also opened lots of doors for me and I have progressed in my career over the past 2 years. I have climbed up my service line and have gained a permanent position. It has been a good opportunity for me to gain a career.
My assessor is always available to ask questions either through email, over the phone or through our monthly meetings. This is useful because if I need some help with something I know that there is always somewhere to go. I also have regular contact with Paula so if Tracy is unavailable I have other people that I am comfortable with.
I think you should do an Apprenticeship because it gives you lots of new and exciting experiences as well as opens doors to career.
From doing my Apprenticeship I think that the main benefit is that it has given me lots of experience. Throughout my job I have spoken to lots of different types of people and carried out different tasks that have given me lots of knowledge and skills. It has also grown my confidence and I feel like I have grown up lots.
I have completed my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Business Administration and have started my Level 4. I have also completed the Microsoft Office Specialist qualification in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.”
