Prostart's Ofsted Report - 04/06/2008
Prostart's Ofsted Inspection report was published on the Ofsted website on the 19 th of May. Prostart received grade 2's for Effectiveness of Provision, Capacity to improve, Achievement and Standards, Quality of Provision and Leadership and Management with contributory grade 3 for Equality of Opportunity. The sector subject areas that were inspected, Information and Communications Technology, Business Administration and the Entry to Employment programme were also graded 2's. The key strengths that were identified were:-
High apprenticeship success rates
Good development of workplace skills in apprenticeship programmes
Good E2E progression rates
Good short term action-planning in apprenticeship programmes
Good teaching and learning in E2E
Good support for all learners
Particularly effective improvement strategy
Strong focus on promoting learners' well-being and success
Report extracts
Achievement and standards are good, with high success rates in business administration programmes and some outstanding success rates in ICT programmes. The timeliness of learners' achievements is satisfactory or better.
Good skills development takes place across all programmes'.
The quality of provision is good with good teaching and learning in E2E programmes. Good short-term action and assessment planning enables learners to progress quickly and achieve well on apprenticeship programmes. Support for learners in all programmes is good, particularly the support and promotion of learners' health and well-being. Individual learning support needs and interests are identified and met appropriately in all programmes'.

New Information Resource Centre - 31/01/08
As part of continuous improvement activities Prostart have been working towards the Connexions Career Mark Quality Standard in Careers Education, Advice and Guidance. As part of this work Prostart have set up an Information Resource Centre. The information provided in the Resource centre is intended to help learners make decisions about many aspects of their future and contributes to Prostarts holistic approach to personal development. Information is provided in a variety of formats and is seen as contributing to the development of communication and ICT key skills. Information is provided in such a way as to provide learner autonomy through access to the resource centre and at home via Prostarts website.
All materials and resources are located in the Connexions Resource Centre at 28 High Street
